The Phil from GCHQ website is up and running
After a week of deep immersion into the slimy depth of PHP, I have emerged with a website for my CC-by webcomic about Phill from GCHQ.
Take a look at it here: phillfromgchq.co.uk
The site is very simple. Two static pages (an about page, and a support-link page) and a viewer with back and forth buttons. There is no database. The site simply look in the pages-folder and sort the images after their filename that has the following naming convention:
00x-Title.png
(or .jpg or .gif. That dosen't matter)I plan to release the code for free when I have stopped polishing, so others that need simplicity or just want to publish their webcomic can get to it. The site could also be used for other image-based websites.
I also created a Patreon-page, but I still need to find out how to set up a Steem address or widget for Steem-tipping That will hopefully come soon :)
I hope you enjoy the site.
I don't get all the jokes, but the ones I got I loved. Great art, such a indie Robert Crumb type feel. Nice site for it too. Thank you for sharing, now following.
Thanks... I don't get them all either :) I do tend to be a little cryptic when I make stories, so I guess that I will have to have a page where a J.R.R. Tolkien-like Cambridge scholar explains some of the subetext (phill's name, The Horace quote etc.) just like this nineteen century scholar did in the Danish History by Claus Deleruan.
Or the office guy in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. (45 sec. in :)
