Getting more visitors to your website is an important as the website itself. Having a website especially for a brand or business is important, but as to what is even more important afterwards is having or building a system that will generate traffic to your website and make it more functional and relevant.

Why do we need more visitors to get to our website?

To increase our page views, to generate serious traffic, to promote engagement and to make our website become influential.

There are several ways to generate traffic to our website. But before then, let's look at website through the eyes of digital technology. Website is part of digital marketing especially websites created for business purposes.

Digital marketing simply put is doing marketing adopting the digital tools. In other words, digital marketing involves the process of getting your goods and services as well as ideas from an offline position to online platform with the ultimate aim of creating more awareness and generating profit.

We have different types of digital marketing which includes; social media marketing, website, email marketing, paid advertisement, online branding, content marketing etc.

But for the purpose of this post and considering the context of the question asked, I will dwell on website. The website makes up about 10% of the entire digital marketing.

A website according to Webster's is defined as a place on the world wide web that contains information about a person, organization etc, and that usually consist of many web pages joined by hyperlinks.

Even if you design an excellent colorful website, without having a system that generates attention to it, Such website will remain limited and in most cases eventually becomes moribund.

One way to generate traffic to your website is through advertisement. Either paid advertisement or social media advertisement. If you adopt paid advertisement, there are different kinds (pay per click, google admob,displayed ads etc), make sure you choose one that best suits your website. There's need to consider key search words related to your site when going for this. Social media advertisement involves creating contents on your social media platforms to promote your site and draw attention to it. Always remember to add link of your website to your created content.

Another way to get visitors to your website is through SEO (Search Engine Optimization). What is SEO all about?

It's simply optimizing your content for search engines, the process of making your site easily discovered and highly ranked. With SEO, when a search is done on key words that are related to your website and brand, your website easily pops up amongst several million others. SEO involves creating internal links to new contents and meta descriptions. It helps increase your website visibility as well as traffic.

Any way to generate organic traffic and engagement to your website is by getting your business or brand enlisted on GMB.

GMB means Google My Business, if you get your brand or business enlisted on GMB which will include your website as well, this will give you 10% pure visibility. You don't need to do anything, you'll have serious traffic and attention drawn to your site. All you have to do is to be on GMB. Asides from having more traffic and engagement, that can be translated or converted into sales, which means more money and opportunities.

With GMB, once a search is done, information concerning even location of your organization or business will be seen, or to get there, contact address, opening hours etc. GMB is good but for getting visitors to your site and making sales as well.
