I can appreciate how rank is necessary in military settings. But it does create those situations where one is forced to follow the orders of total schmucks just because they happened to tough it out in the military a little longer than you. I've heard quite a few entertaining and horrible stories from various people I've worked with about the worst officer or NCO they've had to work under. Cleaning up steaming piles of crap that your superior leaves behind on a regular basis seems the best analogy to most of those stories that I can possibly come up with. 😏
