The alien here is referred to as a "Faceless", shapeshifters that masquerade as human civilians in the XCOM 2 missions. Just about everyone who's played XCOM 2 has experienced the scenario here, where a certain percentage of the time a given civilian is a Faceless that assumes it's real form when you get close (and have little or no action points left to react). So I tend to have my most expendable unit performing the "civilian rescue" role. Have gone through more than a couple "Brents" this way... 😏

The question that will drive you crazy later... did the red shirt go to the civilian because it was the monster? Or was the civilian the monster because the red shirt went to her?
I believe it's the first, because it's simply destiny for the red shirt to be there...
