In the digital age, media literacy is a necessary skill
People have become passive consumers of content, which is not a good thing. In the past, journalists used fact-checking to verify the information they had collected before publishing it. This is a range of activities and tools that must be used to identify fake or incorrect information. With the growing number of events and information to be verified, it is now more like verifying information due to lack of time for a full review. Verification implies superficial work, which, nevertheless, is necessary at least for the initial verification of data.
Today, in the digital age, one of the necessary skills is also media literacy. It determines the possibility of critical thinking: a person is able to distinguish between reliable sources, analyze content and make a decision on his own whether to trust the information he read or not.
Modern humanity lives in an endless stream of information. It becomes more and more difficult to control and verify incoming information. Human perception "overheats" and a clickbait headline is enough to immerse the reader in an altered reality.
On social media, it is even more difficult to protect yourself from false news, especially if a person is friends with someone who intentionally or unintentionally spreads fake news. Despite the undeniable positive aspects, the information on the Internet is unreliable and chaotic, the substantiation of various statements may be incorrect, the interpretation of the facts is distorted. It is, in many cases, a product of the consciousness industry, whose activities are aimed at manipulating consumers of information for political, economic or other purposes. And applying the principles of fact-checking to every information on a social network is becoming increasingly difficult due to their large number.
The development of content analysis technologies, research in the field of data analysis creates great opportunities for researchers in this field. Therefore, Exorde as a knowledge network can use the unstructured content of the Internet and perform a first-of-its-kind analysis of the virality of information circulating throughout the network.
Exorde is a web3 protocol that allows developers to collect and link all public data on the web. This protocol collects all possible information from articles, videos, audio, social networks, in a word from all places where at least some minimal data is contained. And at the output we get data that connects all similar facts. Thus, the goal of the project is to find the original source of viral information in its original form, before this information becomes viral. And then the person himself decides whether to trust the information received or not.
In our project, the artificial intelligence module will allow us to recognize objects in the text, extract sentences, facts, compare them with each other and perform similarity checks. This approach will make the joint work of participants and artificial intelligence the most effective, will allow tracking relevant and fresh information received by the network, and form a more objective opinion.
Exorde is run by its DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) and uses community votes and polls. Management will be decentralized among all members of the community. Collectively, they will be able to change the internal rules and parameters of the systems (rewards, limits, delays, scheduling, etc.) and will have a built-in reputation system. These mechanisms are designed to continually align the interests of the community and its governance for the benefit of Exorde.
