There is no such thing as "slow down" in the news industry-- so that's why after only a year of working the early morning shift, I ditched it. Because everyone was in such a fucking hurry to be "First" to get the story out, none of us was actually gathering relevant information or organizing our facts in a logical matter. This is why watching both local and national news sucks. Worse still we were under sometimes impossible deadlines to finish a show before going live.
I do not regret watching away from that dumpster fire of chaos. I like having the freedom to choose my own topics and write them at whatever pace I feel like. This is why Steem is like my new home.
If we all took a nice leisurely pace when we create content, think of all the cool unexpected things you could learn and then share. @shello thanks for inspiring us all to come down from Mach 6!

Daaaaaaaamn. Yeah I used to think that's what I was supposed to be doing with my life in the rat race scheme of things, until I realized that I was a human being! There are a lot of news sources that don't wait until the facts are straight to get their publication out. If it is important, I'll find out- TV scares the shorts off of me!
Impossible deadlines are part "ambitious" and part, I need to feel exhausted to validate my work. I'm glad you got out of there, and are using your time wisely for your own endeavors. It's liberating when we find out that the beliefs we held so dear, are incompatible with the reality we want to live in.
