Wayback Wednesday - Deep Purple "Smoke On The Water"

Today's #waybackwednesday is focusing on the 1970's. The band is Deep Purple and you will know this tune just by the opening riff of this fantastic song. It's a classic for certain and one I absolutely love. It was released on their 1972 album entitled Machine Head. There is a story behind this song. Apparently, the song was written during or after a Frank Zappa show in which someone fired a flare gun in a casino and set the place ablaze. This happened in Switzerland, I believe, as this was just a few years before my time, but I still can appreciate a good rock song when I hear one. I hope you all enjoy it!
