Our little adventure

in #waterfallwednesday6 years ago

Just days after our civil wedding my husband and I and the rest of my friends decided to go to Igpasungao Falls in Sebaste, Antique, our neighboring town. It was raining that day that made our journey a little bit hard because of the slippery and muddy steep path. The only way to reach the place is by foot so we left our tricycle, a vehicle which is common in the province of Antique in the Philippines and started our little journey.

I can say it was a dangerous adventure because sometimes we need to cross holding only to the trees' roots in some areas in the mountain. Add having some kids in tow. We have never been there and we never expected it was this difficult. There was a time that my brother in law slipped in a strong current of the river while passing through. It was funny because he was just crossing when he suddenly swallowed by the river but didn't laugh at him at first but when he gained his composure and sure he was alright, my husband jokingly told him:

We haven't been in Igpasungao yet. Don't go home.

My brother in law on the left. All wet after slipping in the river. I guess a peace sign from him is a proof that he is alright. Haha!

That incident somehow eases our tiring feet because of walking for nearly an hour. It took us 1 and a half hour by foot reaching the area and welcomed us with this scenic view.

The guide told us that this waterfall is crystal clear during summer. Since it was raining when we went here, we just stayed with the group, grilled the meat we brought and enjoyed that view.

The water was also icy cold that we haven't enjoyed swimming so I really suggest to go here during summer. We didn't have any choice but to come here that time because we were just there for a short vacation.

The time we were all looking for our gay friend's false teeth

Another highlight of this dangerous, funny adventure we have was when one of our gay friends lost his false teeth when he dived into the water. At first, he never told us about it and tried looking it by himself but when he thought it was time to get some help, he informed us and all of us were looking into the strong current in a chance to find it. It was never found! Don't worry, he got a new one a few days later. Haha!!

Regardless of what happened, with another friend slipped and sprained her ankle on our way home, everyone got a new experience to tell to our respective families back home.

To those who wanted to go here please do it during summer and remember you will go by foot with 1 and a half hour walk. 3 hours back and forth. Have a guide who knows the area because there is a chance you will be lost in the mountain. There is no entrance fee here but the locals keep reminding us to not throw any trash or leave it anywhere. In this way, the beauty of this Igpasungaw is preserved.
