Microplastics in bottled water, Berkey water filter review
On the way to work this morning, I heard on the news that a high percentage of bottled water had micro plastics in them. The news brief mentioned that it was from the bottle cap and that a year of consumption can add up to the plastic intake.

I did a quick search of the latest news and there are quite a few articles regarding the testing of bottled water, the results and the amount of micro plastics in them.
A few times a year, I drive 50 miles to the nearest fresh water spring and fill up 5 & 7 gallon containers. The spring is named Adobe Springs in the mountains of Patterson, California. You can search for a fresh water spring in your area with the findaspring.com website.
Last years fill up at the spring. I connect a water grade hose to the spigot and fill the containers in the back of my truck.
When I am out of fresh spring water, I use a home water filtration system named Berkey. I produced a post about it months ago. It is 2 stainless steel containers with the top holding the filters and gravity feeds the water into the bottom section.
They have a variety of sizes and you select one based on daily consumption.

You can go to the Berkey water site and read the details of the system and how much contaminantes it filters out. I can vouch for the fresh taste of the water and I'm comparing it to fresh spring water from Adobe Springs. (Which has been tested by various labs)
There are a few YT vids that review the Berkey system as well. I watched one video where the guy used creek water that he strained with a cloth, then through the Berkey system and he drank it!
There are plenty of water filters out there, even small portable ones for camping. If you drink a lot of bottled water, you might want to think about filtering it going forward.

Hopefully people will start to realize the health benefits and environmental benefits of not using bottled water soon.
Thanks for the info @nicnas, I'm sure most people think that bottled water is pure. 10+ years of drinking micro plastics is most likely not good for anyone's health.
O yeah I haven't drink bottle water in years. I'll never drink it ever again and I tell so many people to stay away from it .

Forgive me but the media is simply just glossing over this. If every food we eat we're to be properly tested for particles then we wouldn't be eating at all. There's no drinkable water that doesn't have some amounts of particles.
I used to drink distilled water and that has NO particles in it at all. I do believe with all of the GMO foods out there that most have some kind of contaminations. You basically need to grow your own veggies to ensure it is organic.
