The Price of Energy?
Q. What is the benefit of selling valuable energy resources at far below replacement cost to a foreign corporation deeply enmeshed in political trouble while carrying heavy debt?
A. The CEO of Avista gets an extra $17 million.
Based on the inglorious & outrageously expensive history of Hydro One, a handful of Avista executives receiving $50 million in bonuses will benefit from this transfer of critical energy assets. but citizen/ratepayers who actually paid for the assets under monopoly conditions will not benefit.
This sell-out undermines regional energy security & stability while bringing exponentially greater threats from politics, economic incompetence, and greed.
