North Korea

in #war7 years ago (edited)

I wanted to share something with everyone. Something surreal, and I'm still a bit out of it after writing it. This is the e-mail I just sent my wife whom is at our home in Tokyo with our kids.

Honey, the stuff with N. Korea and China is heating up. I want you & the kids to be ready to leave on a moments notice. Meaning have a plan to have your suitcases packed with your computer, jewelry and our most expensive minerals. If we bomb N. Korea I want you and the kids on the first plane out of Tokyo. You will need to send Chai to your parent's house or your brother's or whoever. It's very serious and Tokyo is a major target for N. Korea and China. 3 US bases are in/around Tokyo, Yokota/Tachikawa, Sagami and Yokosuka. If they attack Tokyo they would take out all 3 bases as well as cripple Japan, so it's a prime target.
This is very serious. I love you, Erik

With China jumping into the fray it makes me ever more nervous. China had the opportunity many times to put an end to this, but N. Korea is their attack dog and there is no way they are going to muzzle it.

As far as I am concerned the world should outlaw any other country from obtaining nuclear weapons period. The 8 countries that have them will never give them up and there isn't much we can do about that except work with one another to avoid conflicts. It is a very dangerous world just with those 8 having them. Add into that mix a smaller, more reactionary government like North Korea or a religious fundamentalist one like Iran or Saudi Arabia obtaining them and we are surely headed towards nuclear conflict. The less countries that have nuclear weapons the safer the whole world is.

North Korea should have been dealt with in the 90's when maybe we would have lost a few hundred thousand people. Now we are dealing with losing 10's of millions plus cities and even countries due to radiation. If we continue to appease those who seek to gain nuclear weapons we are only signing the death warrant for all humanity and the planet. History is repeating itself and once again showing us that appeasement never works. Except this time history may be telling us it's the last time. No more kicking the can down the road for our children to deal with an even worse situation

Must have been a hard email for you to write, hope this situation turns out ok but all options on the table seem bad at the moment

It wasn't hard, it was necessary, almost reactionary when I woke up and saw what was happening. It was more surreal that I would have to write something like that. I don't want my kids or everyone else's kids to have to deal with these things in their future.

I think you should ALL be made to give up your nuclear weapons, AND nuclear power as well.

The nuclear deterrent hasn't stopped wars, and if either of these two madmen hit the button it won't stop still more wars.

The US has long ago abandoned any moral high ground in this coming conflict. and the idea that 'we have nukes, but you can't have them because you're bad' doesn't wash outside the US.

How many countries has North Korea invaded since the sixties? How many?

How many civilians in other countries has North Korea killed as collateral damage?

How much environmental damage have North Korean companies done to the plant?

Take a good hard look at yourself America and try to see this from the perspective of the rest of the world.

North Korea is not the problem. If you leave them alone, they won't bother anyone or break anything.

The US is the nation most likely to bring large scale destruction to any country that tries to be independent, or has a different system of government, or who doesn't want McDonalds and Coke.

War fixes nothing. It never has and it never will. It only create more suffering and misery. But not for those who wave the battle flag. They never have to serve or sacrifice. They don't get bombed.

That's what the youth are for. That's why your soldiers are all so young, because anyone who is a bit older knows enough to know that it is all just wrong.

Isn't North Korea the attack dogs of the queensway 88 group and not the current chinese government? Aren't they also in league with russia who supposedly helped fix their missile guidance systems?

I'm not familiar with the Queensway 88 group, but considering China just declared they would not let the US or it's allies launch a first strike on N. Korea, despite N. Korea developing nukes and ballistic missiles, I'd say says everything we need to know.

The Russians have indeed helped with developing N. Korea's weapons, but I'd say they are not as willing to go to bat for them as China. Russia does need a chess piece against the US and our allies, but I think Russia would be willing to let N. Korea go as they are too loose a cannon.

China borders North Korea, they'd see a massive influx of refugees if we were to strike. Besides that yes it is seemingly true that china has oil and other deals with north korea and russia. Between the queensway 88 and rosneft. Whereby Exxon and Rosneft are poised to do deals through king and spalding our new fbi directors last gig. I think russia's oil industry benefits greatly from the regional threat. Allowing russian headway in syria and possibly qatar. Futher decreasing American access to minerals in the south china sea also. While threatening both guam and hawaii as duterte in the philipines blocks access to coconuts a commodity Americans greatly desire however the pharmacuetical industry doesn't want us to have. Trump and blackwater seemingly want a war. Exxon just wants sanctions lifted so they'll pretend russia isn't backing north korea. I wonder how it will all play out

This is so horrible. A couple of unfit presidents playing with their nuclear weapons or threatening to use them. It´s so unreal as the nuclear threat should be long gone and over with after what Hiroshima and Nagasaki went through :/

Indeed, however the can has been kicked down the road and that road is almost at a dead end. I'd rather not reach that dead end.

Keep in mind, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were "atomic" bombs. Nuclear bombs are orders of magnitude more powerful.

Yeah, This has been pretty stressful. Fortunately, I am here solo so I don't have the extra responsibility that you have. Here's hoping things calm down.

Take care down there and have an exit plan.

Also get some bitcoins, war is bad for fiat currencies, we can just know what will happen to cryptos during a war.

Very sobering. Resteeming. Unfortunately, a lot of sheeple have their heads in the sand about this. Resteeming

After today, it's going to get even hotter.

Let's hope one of his inner circle decides to end him and this ratcheting up of hostilities.

It would be nice if this ridiculousness ended somehow. I've seen a lot of talk about how blockchain's can take the power away from governments and put it in the hands of the power, but I always wonder how true those assumptions really are and if harnessing the power of a blockchain could somehow unseat a dictator. Anyway, here's to hoping there aren't any more missile launches and evacuation alerts.
