Remember the names


The Netherlands commemorates the victims of the Second World War on May 4th. In all Dutch cities and villages, local committees, organizations, associations or municipal officials organize a remembrance ceremony.
Quite a number of these remembrance ceremonies are organized on a war cemetery.
The American Cemetery in Margaten is a wargrave and a very impressive place; I visited this cemetery about two months ago (and published a photo: the shadows of war). For me, it was the place to realize that our freedom came with a high price.
