Probably, but you can't carry around bullion securely stored on your phone or use it to buy lunch at the Chinese restaurant down the street (yes, they accept bitcoin there).
If it's stored in your phone, it's not secure.
don't think of it as a currency.. think of it as, holding some of my star power.. the more people wanting, the more I'm able to do for the community
