On @Wang

in #wang8 years ago (edited)

@Wang is now automatically up voting anything posted by @les-peters, resulting in an instant $10.00+ reward on each post this user makes.

This is also happening on a much larger scale across the board, (I.E Anonymous/ Xeroc ). I know most of us are aware of this issue, however, I do not believe the intent was that bots would automatically up vote content from specific users without reviewing it. This is the exact opposite of a decentralized platform and the community, as a whole, has to do better than this if want to encourage people to use our platform.

Show your support for the ANTI-BOT movement by upvoting and leaving a robot meme.

Or better yet... give us your thoughts on the matter.

This may determine the future of our species. Tread carefully.

Here is one of MANY examples (looking at you too, even if you are programmed to spread helpful advice @wang)

@soupper3 is a BADLY programmed bot which is flagging RANDOM comments, some of which are very good.

It was created by @pharesim

"I am a downvote bot. Contact @pharesim at slack if you think I am misbehaving. Please help fighting spam! Upvote this post to strengthen the bot, downvote the parent post if it has positive upvotes."

STOP THE BOTS

Not only are they stealing your value, but they are suppressing intellectual progress.

Thanks for understanding.

Unfortunately this isn't going to stop. It's going to be near impossible to stop of this type of thing, either by bots or people. The blockchain is meant to by publicly accessible. That's how it works, and bots are a part of it. We just need to figure out how to improve some of the economical mechanics around this type of thing.

agreed jacobt

Whalebot carnage on the rise. A robot meme sounds like a good idea.
