Use Steem or SBD to Get Walmart Gift Cards

in #walmart6 years ago

The website and app eGifter opened Walmart gift cards back up and I do not know how long it will last.   They have been in the cryptocurrency scene for quite a while, taking four main currencies, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Ethereum.    All you have to do is grab whatever address you are given to send to from them, open up Blocktrades and you now can pay with STEEM or SBD.   I suggest using Litecoin as your payment method, fast transfer, low cost.  Here is what it would look like, where the Litecoin payment screen is where you would go to Blocktrades to do your STEEM or SBD exchange.

PROTIP: There is a 5 minute timer that goes on the NETCENTS page that you can reset just by clicking the x in the top right hand corner of the window and it will just take you back to the ETC  LTC choice screen.

I'd urge anyone to use an exchange like Bittrex, Binance, or OpenLedger to make their trades if they can. Blocktrades takes an absolutely enormous fee when trading.

A loophole for Wal-Mart cards in eGifter is to buy eGifter credit first, then purchase the Wal-Mart card with that. EDIT: Looks like that's what you're describing. I thought that you were saying they started directly allowing you to buy Wal-Mart cards with crypto again. It's a shame you can't buy Amazon cards anymore, super lame.

Any tips on getting gas for your car with crypto?!

It bloooows about not Amazon cards from them with crypto anymore or even by using their cards. I mean, I have to say though Walmart is really the next big one to have and was surprised to see it again.

Gas for crypto still is not a figured out thing, I am surprised. I know there is a store on OpenBazaar with gift card and has a Shell card https://openbazaar.com/store/QmVw3zVy4R13B5QmmYqhJaUt33bzQAzGw3k61isExAxEvh

I do not have the funds available to do a start up myself, but if someone has spare fiat it seem like it would be a decent investment to buy some from a few gas stations that are as nationwide as possible and I just don't know what percent over it would make it all worthwhile, but just throw them on OpenBazaar and even like Bitcointalk and the Bitcoin market subreddits (if they still exist).

Hmm, doesn't look like they have any feedback, though. Also noticing this is Canada-based. Do you know these dudes?

Yeah, haven't peeked at reddit or btc talk forums in forever. You used to be able to buy Best Buy or GameStop gift cards and buy BP/Shell/Exxon Mobil gift cards there but they quit allowing it earlier this year. I have no idea why, but one guy said something about credit card fraud. Makes no sense to me . . . If you can buy items from a store with a gift card, why can't you buy a gift card that, that establishment sells!? Kills me!

I have no done business with altGear personally, but they do have an online presence https://twitter.com/altgearob and seems to be very reachable https://discord.gg/jyTXVWz

After just checking out their Tweets, surprised he isn't on Steemit, would probably do well here.

Edit: He is on BTC Talk too, very surprised he hasn't used Steemit.

The credit card fraud thing makes no sense to me either. Someone could really sweep in and make a killing by just doing gas cards.

Hmm, I might invite the guy, then. Have you ever thought about filling that niche? There used to be https://steem.cards/ but it died after a few months :'(. I used it a couple times, worked great.

I don't know what the math would be to to make it personally worth my while to be able to receive crypto and either be able to transfer to it to either fiat or just a means to pay monthly bills on a regular basis. I really don't have the fundage or credit to start such a thing, but I also would do it if I did have all that, because why not. I definitely see the gift card market needs like a very solid line to certain type of gift cards.

Amazon for example, seems to be a getable cards through various means, but I have yet to see the steady/stable choice that everyone points to or recommends. Purse.io maybe? I know not a gift card, but at least a means to Amazon. So weird knowing just not forever ago it was the good ol days of eGifter and Gyft and the bonus points. I would buy friend pizza and text it to 'em.

The good ole days indeed. I miss 'em :'(.
