Just another sunset here at Toad Hall...

Lucky for me, I didn't head out for a last minute run this evening. I would have missed an exceptional view, and a couple of noble pilots.

Have you heard the sound of Swans flapping their wings on a calm evening? It's otherworldly, like a bit of rhythmic electronica.

Two seconds earlier, before they had flown into the sun, the lighting was quite different.

The tide went down at the same time as the sun today.

This brought the gulls out for some shellfishing. No junk food for our gulls. These guys eat healthy.

They might be "common" birds, but I just love their antics.

When they find a scallop, crab, or quahog, they fly up and drop it on the rocks to break it open. The other day one of them managed to hit our sliding glass door with one. I heard it all the way in my office, where I was listening to music with headphones on. We're lucky it didn't break the glass.

Here's the usual view of my two favorite trees. Usually I photograph them in the morning, but this time of day they look completely different. Why are sunsets so much more colorful than sunrises, do you suppose?

I think the mudflats here look like a giant footprint, in negative. STOMP!

WALK WITH ME!!! says the giant.

Sorry, but I didn't go far for tonight's walk. Mostly because I didn't have to!
