Retroactive Walk With Me From Beltaine
It's time for a little retroactive Walk With Me fam, let's go remember! LOL
The pear tree is in bloom but I DON'T SMELL IT! I don't know what is going on. Normally you can smell one of these for half a block, but I was sticking my nose in the blooms and nothing! I'm so sad, I love the pear trees' scent!
A view of city park while I was walking to drop off my voting ballot on Beltaine.
This ...this feels like a furry joke is in there, somewhere.
These are what the sign was referring to.
Proof that walking on a narrow sidewalk less than two feet from bumper to bumper traffic often moving at 40+ mph sucks ass - humans would rather wear two parallel tracks - a main one and a passing lane that is slightly less worn - in the mud behind the bus bench that is right there than walk in front of it with cars, buses, and trucks blowing by you belching smoke. Pedestrian infrastructure sucks in this city. We deserve better. This is between city park and Colfax on Colorado Boulevard.
I'm hoping the snow we got the other day was the last of it, but you never know around here. The generally recognized "safe" date to plant outside is mother's day, in mid-May, so we'll see! I liked this photo of the frosted tree. :) This tree might be Ellie the Elm's parent, or the one just to the left up close to the balcony. Ellie was a volunteer who blew into one of my pots a few years back and they're both elms (the one in the foreground of this photo is a Tree of Heaven, which are invasive around here and will grow anywhere it damn well pleases. I'm also allergic to them, sob).
That's about it, just thought I would share my pretty pictures. Hope y'all had a good Beltaine! Steem on!
I hope that's the last of your snow! Seems strange to both have blooming fruit trees and snow at the same time... but I guess that's Denver.
=^..^=
Denver weather is like the people who put every flavor of soda in their cup at once, lol.
I totally thought the frosted tree was flowers... ah damn...
And speaking of flowers, how cool is that pear tree, that's what got me fooled with the frost tree. Sorry you couldn't smell the blossoms, I bet they are so heavenly I've never smelled pear blossoms.
The hot wolves made me lmao!
I found a sculpture that had a sign like that wolf one once. It was a hot summer day, and they weren't wrong about it being hot. Scalding actually fit better.
Oh I bet! It just struck me funny.
THoise wolf sculptures are pretty cool but I bet people could have fun with that sign LOL
Lets hope that was the last of the snow for you
(fingers crossed)
Sending you good luck wishes :) typing with fingers crossed is a real challenge though
