Walk with me: Urban Decay part 2!

It's been a long time since my last Urban Decay post. Back in February, I think, before we moved out of the Homeless shelter and into our home.

These three buildings are all within a few blocks of each other.

This used to be an auction house, pretty well known here in Duluth. It's current owner lives in Colorado.

In June of 2017, its roof caved in. Luckily she had already abandoned it, so it was unoccupied. Today that stuff on the sidewalk fell off of it.

The city has just let it sit there. A local article was published about it HERE.

From the sidewalk you can look inside, the building is open to the sky and home to dozens of pigeons.

A few blocks down the road is this one.

Tucked next to a church it simply has a sign on the door reading "In case of Emergency call: (number withheld)". It's a big imposing house and it smells of organic decay.

Remnants of the previous occupants remain, leaving it with a meloncholy feeling.

And two more blocks down, next to the local pedophile's registered address, is this one.

Someone tore the "Condemned for human habitation" sign down.

Fitting commentary on a condemned structure.

So classy. Duluth has a well known Urban Blight problem. There is another I know of in close proximity of these three, but I do not remember exactly where I saw it.

And people wonder why there are so many poor people and drug addicted people in the neighborhood. How can you be proud of your surroundings with buildings like this? You certainly do not attract the wealthy, whose tax dollars would help infrastructure, like this.

The city needs to do better.
