Walk With Me 8, Canal Park
The trio and I have not been down to Canal Park since we moved. We have the week off of work and school for spring break, so today we went to the library and decided to visit the lake!
We start on Lake street with that damned statue again. But, the kids wanted to take pictures with it, so, there you have it!
The water towers. Not sure why, but I like them.
Some pretty neat brick work. I will have to learn the actual meaning behind it. But it looks to have a very simplified history. The lake, the natives. The white men arrive and start logging and fishing and mining.
A sad but true history. The arrival of white people really hurt the natural balance here.
A moose carving my trio like to pose on, they're such hammies. 💜
This used to be interactive art. A water display with Wind as the interpretation, lake sturgeon and all. The stepping stones were a part of it.
Somebody probably fell in and ruined it for everybody.
Willow wanted to pose with a Sturgeon.
Inari being his adorable self while sisters pretended to ride the fishes.
The Ariel Lift Bridge. No matter how many times I see it, it feels larger than life.
Photo bomb!
In spite of all the snow we keep getting, #LakeSuperior, the canal and most of the harbor are ice free! And the Sea Gulls are back!
Ice breaking up along the shore.
People seemed to enjoy the love locks last walk at the canal, so I took some more pictures of them.
So much rich color.
Some put work into personalizing theirs.
We kept walking and found another decorated with the locks. One in particular caught my eye. It was specifically made just for this.
I love it so much! Love locks are growing on me more and more.
There were more awesome things to see, but my phone battery died as I was trying to get a picture of a beautiful heart shaped lock.
Next time I'll try to remember to get it. 💜
I hope you enjoyed walking with my trio and I!
very nice , Looked like a great day
Awww!! What a fabulous walk with the kiddos, they look so friggin happy! Great job Mama :)
It's great to see the lack of ice, and the gulls are back too cool. Thank you for featuring the love locks again, I gotta start that here!! They ARE epic...
