Walk with Me (and rockchickjen) to Ebb and Flo - Jacks Fork River
I took my friend @rockchickjen with me to walk around the river for a bit. I wanted to look for wildflowers, bluebells were my main goal. Here are the photos I took on our walk to the spring and back.
Yellow Violet Viola pubescens
Raccoon tracks in the mud
This giant tree fell sometime last year. The Conservation people have yet to clean it up and I highly doubt it ever will be cleaned up.
The area we like to explore the most, Ebb and Flo, is not a well known or well used area on the river. Most people don't even know it exists. So Ozarks National Scenic Riverways just kinds of ignores it. You have to skirt around no less than 4 downed trees in the road on the way there. The road needs maintained, badly. As does the hiking trail to the spring.

Golden Seal Hydrastis canadensis
Redbud Trees
Butterflies clustering on some scat.
Thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned!
Ebb and flo used to be my go-to place for reflection and deep though. It is so quiet and peacefull there because it is less traveled and the trip down to it is a little rough. I never cared though. Still one of my favorite places ever!!
these crap eating butterflies are still a shock to me... I think I heard about that for the first time on steemit... i believe it was on @foxkoit's blog?! I tried looking for it but that dude posts way too much so I couldn't find it.
Loved the photo of the goldenseal! And the redbud is lovely, as always. Great photos!
Thanks so much, @goldenoakfarm!
Goldenseal is one of the oldest documented medicinal plants of North American origin
Thanks for the cool info, @bakiroroayoub!
Beautiful close ups @hethur240, thank you so much for taking us on this spring walk, brings a smile for sure to see all of that colour...and butterflies!!
So pretty! Sounds like the road is even worse than usual though :( We took the kids down to Baucher’s for a bit (I can never remember the correct spelling) but there were bluebells everywhere!
Oh! I need to go down there soon then. I need bluebells!
There were only a few when we went floating last week and now they’re popping up everywhere. Now if I could just find some morels!!!
