Into The Wild
After days of rain we finally got a break. The sky parted and the sun started to shine. I don't know for how long, but we jumped on it. Being cooped up in a tiny home for days in a row....it will make you take any excuse to get out.
After just a few steps out of our front door...I knew there was an adventure to be had. I invited Stacie D (@freedomtowrite) outside to just listen. Everything was still and quiet. We could hear the sound of a rushing river that had recently formed in the hollers behind our house. There are 4 draws that all come into one and they made a Siren song that drew us to it.
She immediately said that a walk would be great. I think that her inner excitement was masked by the gloomy character that she had been playing while it rained. There was adventure in her eyes, and something was about to happen.
Our walk was only a couple of miles. Through the woods and down the deep holler, and then up on a dozed road to our house.
It wasn't too far and we saw the picture that God was painting for us today. Bright red leaves, fresh clear water and bits of beautiful green.
As her feet sank into the red clay and the water flowed around her boot I could see her smile breaking out of the unnatural shape it had taken . A glow was coming from her eyes that let me know that she could not be happier.
We were joined by our brave dogs on our adventure. I may be a little bias, but I love that dog.
Ol' George.
As we approached the road there was more flowing water. It made a proper waterfall that seemed to play a soothing rhythm that I felt in my soul.
When we hit the road it was time to commit and connect. Recently I have been yearning to connect with the planet. Thanks to @samstonehill I have been inspired. The boots were gone! I couldn't talk Stacie D into going barefoot though.
Our walk home was just as beautiful. We have been excited everytime we saw @bowentroyer and @thefarmerswife take a hike around their property. We knew there was indescribable beauty waiting for us there, and we just had to go!
As the sun began to shine we were able to capture some more.
Though the walk was far too short, the journey was amazing. With days of gloom behind us I knew it was going to be ok...as I saw the most beautiful thing in the forest! Be well!
Hey mate this is going for ocd :D
Try to center your images by typing:

your image

It will give a lot more appeal to the post :D
Thanks man! I centered them all, I think. On my phone they all appear to be centered...so I won't know if it didn't work. Could you let me know how it looks?
Haha man!! I just changed to desktop on my phone and it looks way better!! Thank you.
I get how you feel when you get out to walk after being cooped up. The things you notice, the smells and the fresh air. Great to be alive!
I love to walk barefoot in the water too, but around here it's barely 40F and brrrrrrr!!!! I'll wait until May....
What a great little river. It looks like all the fallen leaves in the world can't clog it up.
It's been a rainy weekend here too. It would be nice to get outside but after a busy week we're quite happy to coop up inside and just enjoy the view.
Haha right. Sometimes it is nice to just kick your feet up and watch from inside!
Dude, this is really great! Wish I could live out on the land like that. Keep it up!
Thank you! We are blessed. We are surrounded by 100's of acres and our nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away.
Beautiful walk. Always good to be out in Gods creation. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah man!
Ahhhh, your words and photos almost transported me there ;) Beautiful post. All of the rain has had us feeling a bit gloomy too lately, but on the bright side- it’s always a good time to go waterfall hunting!
Those waterfalls were incredible! It wad a pretty spontaneous adventure...and it was great!
Love the picture of the sun shining through! I just love the warm feeling of the sun shining on my face. P.S. I like your new avatar
Thank you! Yeah, that sun....I love to sit kinda of down the holler when I meditate, and the sun shining on my face. It ferls warm and renewing.
You took so many lovely pictures! I love it! But I might be partial...thank you for taking me on a great walk...and the last picture ❤
What a wonderful day! I'm hoping to see the clouds part in a couple of days! These long, dreary rain filled days give the wanna be planter itchy fingers!
Right! It is always worth it. I get so excited about the fresh well water that will come from all of this.
