At fern cottage and Bag End spring yard work

Some Spring clean up at our antique house at cottage on Cape with @winstonalden20180324_121533.jpg

We have an old cape house on Cape Cod that turns 300 this year! It was built when we were still a English colony. We use it mainly as a summer rental now and there is a tiny house cottage as well, fern cottage.

This time of year we trim hedges, cut up fsllen trees (many this year from the storms) and I plan new plants to add before we get our first summer guests.

I'm posting from phone or I'd share more photos of the house interior, that will be another post.

I am enjoying my hot coffee in my favourite mug here.

This let's me know I'm at Bag End (our name for it cuz its like a hobbit house inside all wood). I picture my dear sweet past mum sharing a cup with me as i used this mug with her often.

Here are some shots of some of my little statues around the garden. Not many new buds yet, but I love this time of year. I hope all are enjoying a fine Spring day :)

Cleaning the yard is best exercise in the spring @donnadavisart. For my ''office back'' time when i was able to do that kind of work was best. I know there is a lot work to do, see on your photos you guys are heaving piles of work, but also it's such treasure to be far from city in nature.
And when everything turns green you forget about all work you done before :)

And this is just our little cottage. Where we live most of the time, where I paint and post from, is three acres...but we only manage a bit around the house because well, it's too much to do that and also paint and do everything else I love. BUT I LOVE gardening and this time of year I have my windowsills full of seedlings.

What a cool place, with even cooler statues. Love the little metal and stone folks keeping watch out in the garden. Do you rent the cottage out all summer, or just for weekends? Sounds like a great way to spend some time. Maybe someday I will get out that way...as I've never been to that corner of the contry. Then again, Steemit had better get back closer to lunar orbit, to be able to drive all that way. Sigh, we can always hope. Better go ahead and rent it out ( :

By the week in the Summer. I need to do another post with some interior shots (there isn't a lot or it, as it is a small half cape) but it's hard to post from my phone and we were busy raking, burning, sawing, and doing some fence repair. In one of the photos I think you can see the top of a fence hanging down and out back, near Fern Cottage, three fence panels were completely down. Thank goodness for @winstonalden, or I'd only be half done there!
Yes, Steemit is not doing great, but I don't think I ever earn enough even at it's high to go further on it then the corner shop and buy up some bubbly gum and a coffee :)

I like your captain/fisherman statue. Kind of quaint!

He is really heavy metal he guards the koi in the pond :)

Nice shot ...
This season is refreshing ...
Almost all creatures have good feelings in springs including humans ' plants ...

Those coffee mugs everywhere make the ambiance so cozy!
