1.2 miles to Longbow Arch... A epic hike
So I'm driving along Hwy 279 when I see this sign..
Let's pull over and check it out...
A local says there are more right up the road plus a nice hike to a place called Longbow Arch..
Hmmph... 1.2 miles? Cake walk... heading up the path...
Oh look a rock cairn..
As promised.. more petroglyphs...
Continuing on up the path..
It opens up to offer some incredible views..
Following this red sand path...
Some pretties..
1.2 miles later I find the arch..
Once I get to the top of the arch and the end of the trail I find the coolest rock cairn ever...
Looking back at the canyon I hiked thru..
Peace out ya'll.. I'm gonna catch a rest before I head back...
that's a nice post - so many impressions 😊 and I love to see the petroglyphs and the funny little arch 🙃 @peekbit
Mannnn it's cool experiences like this that need to be on the now worthless trending page haha...
Well maybe we can get @haejin to do a TA of SBD based on these symbols..
I'd say it's definately looking up based solely on the number of donkeys pictured...
That's the funniest stuff I've heard all day. Donkey hieroglyphics will truly pave the way to massive profits!
I 100% agree @overkillcoin. And Dave, this was one hell of an amazing post!!!
When I read the notification that you said this, I thought you were referring to the post he JUST made now, hhahaa... go look at it.
Ooh shit son lololol!
Badass hike Dave! Those petroglyphs are freaking cool!
Hey thanks for sharing Dave. See you at the next safety meeting when you get back.
There were safety meetings along the way..
That definitely is the coolest rock cairn I have ever seen! The petroglyphs and fowers are pretty cool too. The Longbow Arch looks almost like a petrified tree trunk. Pretty awesome. Enjoyed today's walk...
I was thinking as I was making the last leg up to the arch that I was going to make a rock cairn.. decided against it when I found that one.
nice... 👍🏼 thank you
What an amazing place to go for a walk. Just amazing. I love all those drawings and all those places to explore. Fantastic walkwithme @davedickeyyall. <3
That is a sweet hike! Great pics too.
Looks pretty nice where you are I'd stay south if I were you
WOW what a beautiful place! I love the petroglyphs. That one could be the eight-legged wolf child of Loki! Just sayin'. 😃
I like rock cairns, too. But I just learned to never do them in a river space (including next to one), because it can mess up the river life, especially in places where salmon spawn. So a dry place like this is a much better place to find them! :)
I didn't know that about rock cairns...
Me neither, I just saw an article about it this week.
Awesome! I love the history making it to the present.
I have to admit though, the pictures made me wonder if you are headed up a path where you were going to get stranded with no bowl!
