Lets take a look at the Village from a vantage point High above, at the Castillo Santa Barbara. Which now houses the Museum of the Canarian Emigrant. It relates the sad history of mass emigration to South America. Forced either by Royal decree or complete poverty. It is sited on the rim of a volcanic creater. It was built in the 16th Century as a lookout and protection for the villagers, from Pirates arriving from the sea.
