# Update : Walk of Hope project in Bayawan City, Negros Orriental!!

in #walkofhope6 years ago

As of to date Walk of Hope is still intact to spread it's advocacy to the community of Bayawan City in Negros Oriental. Where the specific events are freely offered mostly to the youth. For the past month several free summer work shops was successfully accomplished by the strong determination of @flabbergast-art. With the help of the Walk of Hope Team especially to our ever generous @immarojas who spontaneously supported this project.

The last time I visited Bayawan the progression is still on the process of improving its venue for events. Specifically the Tatay Dagsa's place where improvement is way too far from the day I left the place.

Now Tatay Dagsa souvenir and coffee shop is open to the public. Souvenir items made of bamboo are available for those who wants to buy some products. The place improves so well that I could say it is perfectly done. They innovated the old Dagsa shop to more presentable and enticing native bamboo shop.

Recently @immarojas unecpectedly visited Negros to meet @flabbergast-art and @bobbiecayao in Dumaguete City. I was surprise seeing them together as they sent their photo together in our private chat group. Honestly I was bit jealous that I am not their during their meet up.

If you could remember my previous post I am 7-8 hours away from Bayawan. Plus no direct trip from Bacolod City as you need to transfer from one bus to another just to get their. At same time transportation costs is bit expensive.

Few days later @immarojas visited Tatay Dagsa place and get the chance to talk @flabbergast-art. About the future plans for the Walk of Hope project. At same time they where given a chance to know each other personality.

These images of their bonding moment at the seaside. While gathering some scattered wood stick to make a Walk of Hope name. Is one of the best way to portray how they are coordinated and determined as one team.

Let me share to you the image of the future venue for events and activities in Dagsa Sanctuary. If you've seen the previous summer workshop where kids are making an art. This is the place where they are doing those activities for consecutive days.

According to @flabbergast-art they will make a sleeping quarter with hanging hammocks. The purpose of the sleeping quarter is for other artists or bloggers that can use and stay to the place during their visit in Bayawan. They will also make a tree house with hanging bridge on top of the venue. For additional attraction to tourist and visitors of Dagsa Sanctuary.

At the left side of the Dagsa souvenir and coffee shop. They will display the collected paintings during the activity. Then let people see the creations of kids and introducing it to the community.

This will also allow people to explore how creative is the youth community of Bayawan. Then previous students of the free summer work shop can visit the place anytime and look their finished product in Dagsa exhibit area.

@flabbergast-art is also active in community participation like this independence day celebration. This event was held in the amphitheater in Bayawan City.

He had a lot of invitations from the local community and asking him to participate. Then share his sophistication and expertise in terms music like playing different instruments. Share also his knowledge about Filipino culture from different tribes. Most importantly his advocacy to spread the word of art to the community.

For the upcoming days invitations was sent to him from different organizations asking him also to participate. @flabbergast-art never refuse to offer especially if the purpose of his presence will be benefited by the youth.

Its a form of passion and pure love to help others.

What I really misses when I left Bayawan is when I first experience to sleep in a hammock. I tried taking a nap in nylon hammock that last for an hour. But during that time I was able to sleep on it whole night.

I hope I could experience it again if I could visit Dagsa sanctuary.
