WAFRICA MUSIC CONTEST - HAPPY DEMOCRACY DAY NIGERIA!
OK guys!
I'm participating on this contest and also celebrating today's democracy day in Nigeria.
So, I'm presenting the Nigerian National anthem in my language IBIBIO.
This translation of our national anthem into the Ibibio language was carried out by some AkwaIbom language analysts.
And it is a surprising thing that most of our AkwaIbom youth do not even know how to promote our language by singing the national anthem in our dialects.
In some states, the national anthem is chanted in their various languages and learnt in nursery and primary school levels to internalize this concept in the children.
We need to promote our mother tongues in the best way we can.
And it's a great idea for this contest to be carried out with the concept of projecting our identities and localities.
