The year 2019 is already by the corner and the politicians has resulted in various tricks and gimmicks to deceive electorate in the forth coming election. It is no longer news that the ruling party has been faced with defection, as even the top men of the opposition have also been bought over by the ruling party. The kind of politics played in Nigeria is more or like the English Premier League when at the end of the season, transfer window will be open and most players will be sold out to other team. That is the clear description of how Nigeria politics looks like. Having the two big parties having transfer of key players through lobbying and blackmail also by the government who wants to secure a second tenure.

It was noted that in 2015, after the general election. The sitting president in person of Goodluck Jonathan conceded defeat and congratulated his opponent even before the final result was announced by the body in charge of election which is Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). It was a shocker to see a president do this in Africa and he was named the Hero of Democracy in Africa.

The political parties has been given a deadline to conduct parties primaries and it has followed with a lot of drama. On the side of the opposition which is the People Democratic Party (PDP), one of the key contester who was a former Vice President of the Nation is seeking for the highest position. At the party Secretariat where he was to secure a nomination form vyijng for the position to represent it party at the pool, as he was making enquiry about getting the form. A form was brought to him by his supporters and friends to fill. Behold, they bought him the form, out of shock and surprise. He burst in tears as he could not imagine a thing like that happening. As photos of a president aspirant was seen crying, different meme went around on other social media saying that is another trick to deceive the citizens so they can vote for him.
Days later, the ruling party came with its own which the All Progressive Congress (APC). A very outrageous amount of money to acquire a nomination form. The President didn't want to be left behind in the political game, he came out to say that he is poor and cannot the nomination form which the citizen clearly know this can never be true. His son once had an accident with a bike that he bought with 100million naira each and have different design of them. I even suggested that his son should sell of the bikes to help his father secure a form. The President even made it known that he is going to borrow money from World bank to buy the form.

When we all see this trick, then we know election is already close and would do almost anything to retain their position.

Sort:

Politics in this country is sadly overrated because of the generational corruption which have been passed down. Everyone wants in because of the money they can steal instead of how they can better the country itself. Let's switch the salary of policemen with the salary of president and let's see who still wants to be president. We will start seeing a hike in police application forms lmao... I tire
