A nations cry for help: What is the way forward?

in #wafrica6 years ago (edited)

Greetings to you all, it's still your friend @swizzyl. Today I will be writing on a nations cry for help.

With heavy heart I write about a nation ones great and respected, a nation known as the giant of Africa (I wish it still is), a nation known as Nigeria, my nation.

Nigeria is my country, blessed by nature with mineral resources and with a population of approximately 196,782,842 people In it. It is made up of 36 states, many ethnic groups and culture. Nigeria is made up of three major tribes which are Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo.

For as long as I can remember the situation in my country has been a cry for help, ranging from militant to terrorist group(known as Boko Haram) and presently to herds men.It is obviously a cry for help even though we keep pretending to be handling the situation without achieving any result.

What prompted me to write this is the anger I felt when I tuned up my radio this evening only to find out the topic of discussion to be a warning to the Igbo tribes by the IPOB to remain indoors on the 14th of this month.

IPOB stands for the indigenous people of Biafra. These are some group of people comprising mostly of the Igbos who claim to have been fighting for the liberation of the Igbos, demanding from the Government to let them go.

Why has it gotten to this? And when did it get to this? Is it not the same one Nigeria one may ask?.
One must acknowledge that this group did not start today. It has been recorded in history that there has ones been a civil fight because of this same issue.

I was opportuned to work with an NGO firm that was interested with people's geneology. As a fIeld agent, I interacted with elderly men and women who witness the war and one thing most of them say is that they don't wish anyone to witness war. According to them the experience wasn't a good one.

What will make people who experienced this horrible actto still stand firm in what they believe in even if it leads to another war?.

what will it take for their wishes to be granted?, Will the indoors of the Igbo people on 14th solve their problem?, Will Nigeria become better or worst if/when their freedom is finally granted.

One nation bound with freedom, peace and unity...When these three elements are no longer there will the nation still hold?.

NIGERIA WHAT IS THE WAY FORWARD.

I am still VERY young and also wishes not to experience war, that is why these questions are open for interaction.
