6 TIPS ON HOW TO LEARN THINGS QUICKLY

Life is all about learning and learning never stops, hence this post goes beyond people in college classes or students in general, to everyone in every category of life. Do you suck at assimilating and learning new things within a short period of time? Worry no more 'cause in this post, i will give you effective tips on how to learn things quickly.

1. ESTABLISH YOUR GOAL

Part of the reason why you are finding it difficult to learn new things quickly is mental blockage and this arises from the fear that what you want to learn is too diificult or too elaborate. Example, you wanna learn blogging but you worried of when you will ever start making dollars from blogging. You wanna learn a math but you worried of what your score is gonna be at the test. You have to understand that the goal now is to learn while making money or getting an A in the test depends on how well you acomplish this goal.

2. RESERACHING

For you to learn you must have a teacher. A teacher here implies anything you turn to for information about what you want to learn. Even when you have a physical teacher in term of a leacturer or a proffessor, it is still important for you to research on your own. This is because people explain things the way they understand it, so looking to other sources for help might offer you fresh ideas or new information on what you want to learn. It could be textbooks, Youtube videos, blogs or discussing the issue with other people.

3. DECONSTRUCT THE SKILL

Most times the things we wanna learn either a new skill or a course aren't as whole as they seem, instead they comprise of other smaller skills, formulars or topic. So next time you want to learn something new, remember to deconstruct it and try learning it in parts or fractions instead of trying to learn it as a whole. Quick example, if you are learning a topic and you don't understand it, try checking up some of the difficult words you see in the text from the dictionary instead of assuming you have an idea of what they mean.

4. REMOVE BARRIERS TO PRACTISE

One of the common reasons why people find it difficult learning things quickly is distractions. In todays world, there are a million things out there that can distract a person, which include devices like your phone, television, social media, friends, noise from cars and bikes and the list goes on. For you to learn, you have to put up a resistance against these distractions or remove them entirely. This makes you focused and increases you chance of proccessing & assimilating informations faster.

5. EDUCATE OTHER PEOPLE

A trick i picked up some time ago about learning fast and remembering what you've learnt after a long time is to try and teach others what you have just learnt. Teaching other people what you've learnt helps in learning for a number of reasons like it helps test if you actually learnt the stuff and how well you've understood it. Attempting to communicate what you've learnt helps committ the information to your long term memory. By trying to teach others, you share ideas and brainstorm on the issue.

6. REST

This tip is also very important because when you are tired or your brain is saturated, you just wasting your time trying to learn. It's like beating a dead horse. In as much as it is good to work hard and push yourself, it is important you reward your brain and body for the work they have already done by eating and resting. People's mind normally goes to sleeping when you mention rest but resting doesn't mean you should sleep, instead it mean you should relax and take your mind off the task at hand for a while.
