Western Education And Late Marriage In Developing countries - Nigeria As A Case StudysteemCreated with Sketch.

Something came up today about reason why people go into marriage lately these days and the whole thing was centered on education. Actually, education to many scholars is the only tools that we have to shape our world but on the other side, it is one of the major reason why people settle for marriage lately.

The question is when is the perfect time for someone to go into marriage? Depending on the gender, if it's a girl, I think the right time is between age 20-25 and for boy's, probably age 25-27 according to my own perspective.

As a boy, when you marry at the age of 25 and you have your first baby, by the time you will be 50 years of age, your first child will be 25 years and by this time, he or she would have be able to stand on his own and also preparing for his/her own life.

Educational pursuit has imposed a negative effect on marriage because even at the age of 28-29, you see people still striving for their first degree with no assurance of getting a sustainable job after school and as a man, you need to be financially buoyant before going into marriage, it is not something you just rush into.

In this part of the world, most of the people who ventured into marriage very early are mostly people who had little education before learning one vocational skill. After finishing secondary school education at early age of 18 and acquiring a skill within the duration of 3 years, they are as good as going into marriage because they already have what they can use to sustain their family.

In the indigenous system of education, there is nothing like unemployment unlike western system of education where we have alot of graduates out there seek for job after school because western education is more or less acquiring rather application of the knowledge acquired and these is having a negative effect on why youths go into marriage

If education is the only tools we have to re-brand our generation, then it should be knowledge application rather than acquiring so that school graduates will be able to stand on their own instead of waiting for a white collar job which will also delay their marital life.

Conclusion

What I am saying in excess is that it is good to go into marriage in the mid 20s but what will actually justify this assertion is having a sustainable job which western education has fail to provide most graduates.
