Am I an Option or Priority
What do you call a relationship where two people are together but not dating, somewhat "best friends" but exactly what best friends would do with each other. A thing where no one is meant to see someone else if not it would be termed as "cheating", or maybe talk about someone else which could possibly lead to "jealousy". This story "An option or priority" is a question asked by the figure in this story to the readers of this article, please leave your answers.
Just like every love story begins... it all starts where the boy meets the girl, and they where both attracted to each other... blah blah, well, in this case, they were friends, just friends, friends who became best-friends, no intentions, no attraction towards the "in love" state, and they never thought it would happen too. One day, there was a conversation going on which made them talk about themselves deeply. The atmosphere started to fill itself with understanding, they discovered their dreams where not that different from each other and attraction began to set in, oh!!! snap, a cupid was just passing by.
With a week gone, the conversation they had which revealed their medical status, genotype of course (the destroyer of beautiful relationships) made them realize they shouldn't even get that close to each other. But it seems the cupid's arrow had a lot of juice in it.
One month gone, he couldn't take it anymore. He had to reveal his feelings to her and when he did she didn't say anything but smiled, like a demon waiting to be set loosed. Damn!! maybe I should have waited longer he said to himself. What have been done is done, no going back.
The first few months, everything seemed normal until a sudden change of character, Alas!! the girl. A treasured love from the guy, what could I have possibly done, did I offend her in any way?. He decided to ask questions, but she kept saying "there is nothing, am fine". But you acting all hard on me like I hurt you, I'd like to know, if you can't say, can you please forgive me? he asked but she said again "there's no problem, am fine". That moment, everything was fine but the next day same attitude. This continued over and over and more often and finally was getting out of hands. At this point, she no longer lets him cuddle her, she gets bored with him, she doesn't let him kiss her, she prefers staying and being happy with someone else, she no longer calls or sends messages, she could stay a week and not say hello, her words where becoming really hurtful - there was no filter in whatever message she passes, she started lying about stuff. What have I done?, why you acting this way?, what do you want?, are you tired of me?, do you want me to leave?, have I hurt you without even realizing?, he asked again, as always nothing, he kept pushing until finally she said "Am sorry", I am really sorry. At that point it was shocking because she hardly apologizes for anything she had done wrong, saying that, felt as if she only wanted to stop the whole conversation, but what could he do, what could he believe. she looked sorry that night, but the next day the same thing on and on and on.
At this point he doesn't know what to do, he gets the hidden message "am tired" could he be wrong, but when he asked, she denies it. she says "I love you", but act the opposite, what could he think. Am I an option or her priority, should I stay?
Youthful age can be deceiving @kristofajosh,
One thing I have discovered is marriage in later stages is not maintained by feelings but by commitment. Genotype however would matter then.
And also, I don't like too much proximity between friends of the opposite sex, as this sends mixed signals to potential partners.
