Tye & Bleach designs on Textiles
There is definitely no limit to creativity in art..... Here is some of the designs I made today with just a simple technique....
Below are the stages it passed through in processing.
STAGE ONE
The fabric(cloth) is rinsed in water to soften it and make it ready for design
STAGE TWO
The fabric is folded into the desired design pattern and is held with a rope or rubberband. On this fabric, we are making a spiral design.... It is pinched at the center of the fabric and is rolled to yield the shape below
STAGE THREE
The application of bleach on the fabric on the desired paths of the folded areas.... And then, after application, it is let alone to process and bleach the areas off....
NOTE only a 100% fabric can give a well desired design.
STAGE FOUR
The fabric is rinsed in clean water to wash away the bleach and the bleached coloured before the fabric is spread to dry. The rubberband or rope whichever is used is removed in the process of washing
So easy steps to follow in designing both old and new cloths in the house.......
Now, we have our spiral design on the fabric. The fabric was all black in color before and now I made that colored design on it with TYE & BLEACH.
Materials Used
- Bleach
- Rubberband
- Water
That is all that is needed for this.....

Very nice. I've always thought tie dye shirts were way cool! I made a couple once when I was a kid at summer camp.
Wow. That's cool. Tye dyed fabrics are always cool
