He doesn’t call you or show concern except he’s feeling lonely & horny
Yet you put up with him coz you’re not independent you rely on him for money
Emotionally he tortures you, physically abuses you – daily you’re left with bruises
Afraid of being alone, friends tell you to walk away but you keep making stupid excuses

You claim to ‘love him’ but that ain’t true coz you can’t hide your pains & regret
He dictates to you what you should do or not when you aren’t married yet
You’ve had countless abortions for him yet he wouldn’t accept you as his wife
He tells you he’s not ready to settle down but for him you foolishly risk your life

What if something went wrong one of those moments you terminated a pregnancy?
Do you think he would be there for you in your moment of critical need & emergency?
He makes you feel worthless with no self-esteem like you’re some cheap commodity
If you don’t place value on yourself, he wouldn’t put a crown on you that’s the reality

You think he would change, you hang on believing a patient dog eats the fattest bone
But some day he no longer finds you sexy & attractive he decides to leave you alone
You count the years wasted with him, you feel deceived, used & inconsolable
You become enraged, bitter & hateful painting all men as evil and irresponsible

You claim you were naïve & he manipulated you but that’s not always the case
You should have listened to your friends but you didn’t, you simply made a silly mistake
Coz he makes you climax in bed is not enough reason to stick around if he beats you
Find a way to fend for yourself coz you’re vulnerable when you depend on a man to feed you

You must understand that no man would take you for granted without your consent
If you ain’t adding value to his life & the feeling is not mutual you won’t earn his respect
Your happiness doesn’t come from being in a relationship don’t be afraid to break free
What’s the use of hanging on in a toxic relationship when the red flag is there for all to see?
