The African masquerades
These are some types of Masquerades we got in Africa. The term masquerade can refer to a masking performance, a masked performer, or the character embodied by the mask itself. Masquerade is an important mode of cultural expressions, i dont know if they exists in the countries and other places in the world, but their performances have seen are just so amazing and memorable.

Masquerades in the yoruba part of nigeria are called egungun, or elegun , the dance and makes places of events so lively, the egunguns(masquerades) are referred to in the yoruba land as "someone from heaven" i dont actually know the reason, may be am still kinda young to know that now yet, lol,

The masquerades are actually humans like us, they just dress up in that attire , but it is believed here that, no one can be compared with them after they wore that garment, they became so powerful and very active, most times there are rituals that done for someone who would put on that garment, or else there might be problem for that person ,

You Nigerians have a way with tradition!, Masquerades no less.
Majority, maybe even all African countries have, particularly those with deep cultural heritages.
