The Guilty Party : A Freewrite

The way we all heard the engine sound was different that day, for someone like me that day, it was a hop out of my fantasy, for Tade, my very good friends who was sitting together with me that fateful day talking about how on earth we are ever going to make it in life, the sound was a distraction.

To the driver it was an escape from the hands of police, a means to run away from what has just turned into a crime scene leaving we the innocent bystanders at the mercy of the law.

To the lifeless soul at the back of the car, it was his final means to make the whole world know he is leaving the world in a gruesome way, unprepared for, untimely death they calls it. Or how else would you describe a serial killer who takes joy in raping and killing his victims. A psychopath.

The dead do cry sometimes, yes, they do. But what can we all say to this since we are already in a prison cell now for the sins we didn't commit, all because we couldn't answer the straight forward question that might lead to the arrest of the culprit or give an hint into the case.

"When did you hear the engine start? " was the first question.
"How come he left the body there without you ever knowing? "
