DRUG 💊 ABUSE IN NIGERIA 🇳🇬
Drug abuse which is the taking, buying and use of(marijuana, Tramadol, Codeine, Cocaine e.t.c) drugs or any substance without the consent of a medical doctor or a pharmacists prescription. It could also mean the excess use of drugs as in the form of addiction.
Drug abuse is no longer new to us and for those of use who reside in the northern part of Nigeria in places like (Kano,Kaduna, jos, katsina etc) have been known as areas with high risk of drug abuse in Nigeria. This doesn't in anyway mean that in other parts of Nigeria that there are no people are into drug abuse but i am trying to show areas where they are rampant and needs urgent help and attention.
The rate of drug abuse in the Northern part of Nigeria is becoming alarming and needs urgent solutions before it gets out of hand. The youths of these mentioned areas are the major offenders of drug abuse resulting to mental disorderliness, Madness and high date rate in the country. You will agree with me that in the northern part of Nigeria if their is a death records of 100%, 60% of them died from abusing drugs or some substances.
Since alcohol was banned in the north, they have opted to taking this drugs all in the name of replacing it with alcohol and getting high. This later leave them unconscious, some either inflect injuries, some become mentally unstable and other die as a result of this.
The illegal and legal chemist and pharmacists are not helping matters in anyway, they have turned deaf ears and enjoy making profits from those who patronize them. The state government and federal government are not doing anything to curtail this mess, the reason being that its either they are guilty of this offence or their relations are guilty too.
Research has shown that peer pressure, depression addiction are the major causes of drug abuse in any place where its found. These drugs damages the either the kidney, the lungs and possible the hearth. The resultant effect most time is disorderliness or death.
In the northern parts of Nigeria, apart from the above mentioned drugs, there are other substances & drugs that are being abused and they are ;

Suck Away
Rochi
And even our Feces
This current trend deserves great and swift attention to rehabilitate those who are victims already and look for solutions to these endemic.
The federal Government as a matter of fact should join hands with other agencies to tackles this, before a whole generation is wiped out of the surface of the earth 🌐.
