Today I'm going to tell you about Carl Gustav Jung, one of the psychologists who set the standard in the study of man's behavior.

Considered one of the most famous psychologists of the world, Carl Jung, founder of analytical psychology, at 84 years old he already had a voluntary retirement at his home, near Lake Zurich.

He said in an interview for the BBC television program "Face to Face," that he would have liked to study another career, completely different from psychology, he wanted to be an archaeologist, but his limited financial resources prevented him from taking that path.

His father was a Lutheran pastor, simple and humble people who could not send him to study beyond the university located in his area.

His second passion was nature, particularly zoology. He studied some years of natural sciences; but when he did not have money, he knew that he would finish as a school teacher and that he did not want it either.

In this way, medicine emerged as an opportunity between these continuing indecisions. His grandfather had been a doctor and recalled that he could develop his profession, apart from studying natural sciences, with more freedom.

He always thought of doing something useful for human beings. At the end of his career, he happened to come across a book about psychiatry. Until that moment he never thought it was interesting. When reading the introduction, where it was established that psychosis was the maladjusted personality, he thought about becoming an alienist, that's what psychologists called themselves at the beginning of the 20th century.

It was love at first sight and from that moment I knew what I wanted .

_ At that time psychiatry was nothing, and that's why nobody understood.

Freud.

I had read a lot of Sigmund's texts; but he did not meet him until 1907. He sent him a book he wrote about schizophrenia and then they met for long conversations.

Jung thought that the little training that Freud had in philosophy, prevented them from having a relationship without professional discrepancies and this led to the relationship deteriorating.

I did not agree with many of his ideas .

His well-known theory about the collective unconscious, which proposes that it exists before the individual unconscious, was one of the conversations that did not reach any agreement.

We are the origin of all evil.

Jung warned that psychology was going to change.

We need more psychology, we need more understanding of human nature, because the only real danger that exists is man himself and we are painfully ignorant of it.

_The psyche of man should be studied because we are the origin of all evil.

On the other hand, he considered that birth and death were the two most important events in the life of man, from the psychological point of view.

_Death is the goal of life; if you avoid it, you evade the purpose of your life.

But when you are afraid, when instead of looking ahead you look back, you are petrified and you die before your time.

It is obvious that we will all die and that this is the sad end of everything, but despite this there is something in us that apparently does not believe it. Source
