consider the analogy
Steem is being created all the time at a certain rate.
It flows into your vote power barrel
...much like rain flows into a rain barrel
you can monitor the volume of your vote barrel by using SteemNow
.
Some things to consider.
100% means FULL
but just because your rain barrel is full doesn't mean it stops raining.
same with Steem
the steem just a keep on comin.
and when it reaches full
it overflows and is wasted.

consider a vote to be a squirt of water coming out
of the water faucet.
the more you open the faucet the more water pressure you have.
the same with steem
the higher you set your vote slider

the faster you deplete your votes.

If I understand it correctly you can deplete your vote power down to 80%

...and it will refill in 24 hrs.

So do that.
Vote in any combination you want
...a few strong votes..
or a bunch of lower pressure ones..

but vote.
cause if you don't, and it gets to 100%
...it overflows..

and it's wasted.

ive seen my profile settings and i cant find any slider in there.
You need to have certain amount of steem power in order to get the slider feature. About 480 or something, correct me if I'm wrong.

Hmm, Is more easier to navigate with the eSteem app but on the site you should see a bar that is pushed all the the way to 100%
when you get 500SP you'll get one.
Hi @jeyes56, being new, if you did not invest on steempower then this will not be available for you. I don't have it also on the browser. However, you can download esteem mobile app and you have a vote slider there! Also under settings ^_^
Ahhhh to be a whale or even a dolphin and get that voting slider...
Good read by the way. Having such high numbers of Steem power and being able to give quality posts and comments nice amount of upvote must feel great.
you don't need to be either to get a slider.
all you need is 500 SP.

Right on, just having it sit at a 100% is a waste. I'm still napping, my vp is still below 40% :(

it takes five days to fully replinish vote power that has been completely diminished.

Upon further consideration I think 'dippers' would be better.
Imagine you have a set of dippers that rang from 100% down to 1%. Which ever 'dipper' you choose to use is your vote power.

now the reward curve is linear and their votes arn't as important to us
