RE: How Would a Voluntaryist Community Deal with Murder?

in #voluntaryism7 years ago

Best prevention idea: start young. laugh, play, love, family, friends!
I think public educations should include more emotional development, and self care for body, mind soul.
Take the uni bomber, out casted genius, eventually living in the woods alone, decided the only way he can get the attention and connection with society is to kill a few people, then someone will listen.
My thoughts are also influenced by an article I read where a couple adopted a boy, around the age of 10, with dissociative disconnect disorder(idk what is called now or exactly). This dissociation happens to children who are neglected. So, In the article that boy was now 15 and he said when he got adopted that his mom every day sat him on her lap and feed him ice cream while telling him how much she loved him. After A YEAR he said, he suddenly believes her and feels it too. I wish I still had this article. At the time it was written they had addopted another boy a couple years older in similar situation, and the older boy wants to help the new boy like his mom helped him.
Last example a woman I knew adopted 6 month old twins who were like "zombie babies" they never cry or try to do anything, because they spent their then life without much human interaction. So the new mom and dad carried the babies in slings as much as possible, skin to skin contact as much as possible. 6 months later they are normal toddling giggling kids.

All we need is love...and icecream
The song "the fool on the hill" still makes me cry after 30 years of hearing it. (Not the "newer" version with the stupid flutes.) Most underated beatles song ever
