What happened to the old Volkswagen logo???

I guess I got struck by the Mandela effect, but for the life of me, I'm most certain that the dividing line between the V and the W shouldn't be there. As a matter of fact, I remember studying the logo years ago and seeing two large intersecting V's in it, instead of the now obvious V and W. There was never a dividing line! Perhaps I'm new in this reality...
