VICE Industry Token Video Tutorial Challenge (VIT Claim Process)

Am gonna show you how claim your VIT Token by following this simple tutorial. You can either watch the attached video for better understanding.
Before claiming your token, sign up for a wallet
Go to MyEtherWallet at https://www.myetherwallet.com,

You input your preferred password. Then hit the create new wallet button. A new address will be generated for you. Copy and save your generated somewhere safe or click print new addresss to save a new pdf. file of your address and private key and click continue or proceed.

Download your keystone in the in the next process and hit the "I Understand, Continue "
Your new address is setup. Now connect your address to MetaMask.

Before that we have to get the MetaMask extension added to our browser. Navigate to your browser extension. In my case am using chrome. So i search for MetaMask in the search field.

Note: Its the icon is a fox see image below for details

1. Install it by clicking "Add to Chrome".

2. Click the new orange MetaMask logo in your extension bar.

3. Read the terms of service. Accept said terms of service.

4. You are now asked to enter a password, which protects your key by encrypting it. This means you are more secure. Choose a strong, easy to remember password. Do not store said password in Dropbox, post it to Twitter, or share it with anyone. Write it down with good old fashion pen & paper!

5. You are now shown 12 words. This is a fancy private key which creates an infinite amount of private keys underneath it. You need this to access your Ether. No one can recover it if you lose it, your computer dies, you reinstall Chrome, you uninstall the MetaMask extension, or you reinstall your OS.

You can write your 12 words down and store it in a safe, or engrave it in metal. This will make sure that it never gets lost, even if your house catches fire. If using paper, you should store a second copy in a different physical location.

Remember! Do not share this key with anyone! If you do, they can access your account and send all your coins to themselves.

Now connect your MetaMask account to your new wallet created on EtherWallet.
Head back to https://www.myetherwallet.com. This time click on the Select ETH and Token tab.
Choose the MetaMask Ribbon and hit connect to MetaMask as shown in the image below

Now if followed the instructions right you should see the screen below.

Congrats. You have connected your MetaMask account to your new wallet.

Assuming you already had your account connected and you have some amount of token.

VIEW YOUR BALANCE

To view your balance in the program, go to the address below, copy and paste it to browser’s web address field.

You can only claim up to the total number of BITs currently held for you within the Smart Contract. In order to view your VIT balance, enter your wallet address and press the “Query” button, in section 15.

Please note the value you see is in wei units – you need to divide the value see by 10E18. As an example, in order to refund 1 ETH you will need to type in “1,000,000,000,000,000,000” (18 zeros)

You can use these online tools https://www.myetherwallet.com/helpers.html or https://etherconverter.online to perform the calculation.

TO CLAIM YOUR VIT by Vice Industry

1. Go to MyEtherWallet at https://www.myetherwallet.com, and choose the “Contracts” tab.

1. Copy & Paste the following contract address, into the “Contract Address” field.

1. Copy & Paste the following block of text into the ABI/JSON Interface field, and then click the Access button.

Copy all the text and paste it to the “ABI / JSON Interface” field and click on “Access”:

After successful completion of the above steps the “Select a function” menu should present the functions supported by the VIT token sale smart contract:

claimTokens – a function that enables partial and/or full claim of the VIT tokens.

claimAllTokens – a function that enabled full claim of the VIT tokens.

Input the address of the wallet from which the original contribution was executed (you will need to authenticate yourself as the wallet owned in one of the presented options).

1. Approve and send the transaction. The correct number of VIT will be received in your wallet.
   

Note: I have an empty balance in my wallet. So got the error transaction mesage.
