Voice Will Be on Blockchain... Sorta?

in #voice6 years ago

Taking a step away from all the tron/steemit news, I came across this thread on twtiter by our old friend @dan:

I don't know what his previous comments as I don't follow Dan, but that's not the point here.

This was one of the comments:

Good question!

And the reply...

Here on STEEM, you can edit blocks to update how posts display on the front ends. Look at the recent row I had with ackza where he edits and edits and edits to make it seem like he's more sane: https://steempeak.com/steemtorch/@rafalski/steemtorch-wtf#@nealmcspadden/re-ackza-q5glyb

But, being a blockchain, those previous blocks are still there. It's just the front end (steemit.com, steempeak.com, busy.org, etc) that changes their displays to reflect the most recent edit.

So what will it mean that you can delete a post on Voice? Will it be an edit function like we have on STEEM or is it some kind of change-the-blockchain function, which would invalidate the whole concept of blockchain media?

Time will tell.

After reading your post, I stumbled upon a Voice Post with deleted comments. The frontend showed the following:

So no way to see the history currently.

Is Voice on a blockchain at all? Currently, I haven't seen anything to indicate that its not a private database.

Very interesting! Keep us informed.
