RE: Vocab-ability–201 (sacr = holy) – A More Powerful Vocabulary (earn UpVotes with “Vocab Practice” exercise)

in #vocab-ability5 years ago

MY VOCAB PRACTICE:

  1. Sacred.
In the Catholic religion, the hosts are sacred once they are consecrated by the priest at church during Mass.

  2. Sacrifice.
Many husbands would sacrifice separation from their families to find work in other countries so they can support their family’s standard of living decently.

  3. Sacrilege.
You can be accused of sacrilege if you take communion without having had any confession for a very long time.

  4. Consecrate.
The hosts have to be consecrated by the priest before giving it to the congregation at Holy Communion during Mass.

  5. Desecrate.
Thieves who go in to steal and destroy sacred tombs and artifacts are committing an act of desecration that which others considered holy.
