What on earth is Steem Basic Income?

Steem Basic Income or SBI is a social experiment designed by @josephsavage, and developed in collaboration with @earthnation with a mission to provide basic income for every Steemian.

How does Steem Basic Income work?

Steem Basic Income is like water pouring down as a cascade.

As you can see on the photo, @steembasicincome is a pool of SP provide SBI to all the members. The size of the pool is limited to 500 members for every pool which means when the first pool reached the maximum volume of SP, it starts to fill up a second pool and so on.

How do I enroll in Steem Basic Income?

Currently, there are three ways for you to join the program or increase your share.

• Send 1 STEEM (not SBD) to @steembasicincome. Include the name of any active Steemian that you want to sponsor in the transfer memo (preceded by @). Each of you will receive 1 Standard Share in the program. Standard Share represent your subscription level to this upvote service.
• Delegate STEEM POWER to @steembasicincome to get a Bonus Share. For each 25 STEEM POWER delegated to @steembasicincome, you will receive 1 Bonus Share. Bonus Share is Temporary from the delegated STEEM POWER.
• Join Steem Basic Income Contests to win Shares of SBI.

How can I increase my Steem Basic Income?

• Upvote posts from @steembasicincome regularly to power up the votes.
• Sponsoring more members to receive more Standard Shares.
• Delegate more STEEM POWER to receive more Bonus Share.

Where can I monitor my SBI profile?

You can monitor your Share Counts, Bonus, Upvote bonuses, Adjusted Shares, % of Shares and Weekly Upvote Weight, Frequency and Vote Strength, etc. at Steem Basic Income Membership List

What are the benefits of using Steem Basic Income?

When you are officially enrolled in Steem Basic Income, you will receive lifetime upvote from your specific sbi pool. The upvote weight are calculated individually for each members depend on their weekly posting behavior which means the program doesn't pressure members to post just for their daily upvote. With these benefits, members can spend more time to make better quality content.

What are the risks of using Steem Basic Income?

As far as I understand, Steem Basic Income takes almost all of the risk out of the equation. The only fear I have for SBI program is the potential Hard-Forks of STEEM which could interrupt payout systems.

How to find Steem Basic Income Contests?

There are more than 10 weekly contests that you can choose from. The winners will be sponsored by the host to join Steem Basic Income program.
