Black Vlogger Trolls Starbucks Into Giving Him free “Reparations” Coffee
A vlogger names Bryan Sharpe, known online as “Hotep Jesus,” decided prank Starbucks into showing just how far they’ll go to protect their brand against accusations of racism. In his video, Bryan walks into Starbucks and says, “I heard Y’all was racist, so I came to get my, um, free coffee,” to which the barista immediately complies and starts making Bryan’s free cup of coffee.
Bryan said that he wanted to highlight the ridiculousness of Starbucks’ “white guilt” when accusing them or racism when asking for a free cup of coffee and claims that the fact that they would hand it over with no questions asked is, in his view, racist, and I agree with him. The fact that a person would receive preferential treatment based on the colour of his skin is in fact racism.
The Starbucks scandal simply the combination of imbecilic SJWs and a terrified PR department, as the isolated and mostly misrepresented incidents in two stores have no bearing on the racial attitudes of the thousands of employees across Starbucks’ 11,000 US locations. Yet the company is so terrified of being labelled as racist it is pulling out all the stops to seem as virtuous as possible. This is a PR campaign that has gone too far. Starbucks, we know you’re not racist, so cut the signalling and get back to selling us your overpriced coffee.
