The location of the beach that we want to go to is quite hidden. Residents there call this beach Lhok Mata Ie, in Acehnese. If it is translated into Indonesian, the meaning is the place to get out of the spring.
Hearing the name, most people think there is not a beach, but a pool that has a clear spring.
We trace this beach hideaway on the internet. A number of amazing scenery photos on the search results page made us feel our curiosity increased.
Unfortunately, the address to get there is completely untraceable. The last point if using directions from Google Maps only arrived at Ujong Pancu Beach. Located 15 km from the city of Banda Aceh.
The next day, from the corner of a coffee shop in Banda Aceh, we moved. The trip using a two-wheeled vehicle we traveled to the beach Ujong Pancu in Peukan Banda District, Aceh Besar.
Passing through the narrow asphalt road, we arrived at the last point of the road that vehicles could pass. Because a bridge there has collapsed and hit the tide of sea water. Two men there seemed to be watching us in confusion.
After paying, our motorcycle was parked with dozens of other motorbikes that were there first. "This other motorbike has been here for two days. They spend the night there (Lhok Mata Ie)," explained the parking guard. "Overnight or not, pay the same parking too."
We started climbing the mountain following the directed path. This time the strength of the leg muscles is at stake. Power is getting drained. Fortunately, the mountain that we climbed is still a lot of big trees. So the sun doesn't hit us directly. And make the trip a little cool.
This climbing route is approximately two kilometers long. It takes 40 minutes to pass it. This path is somewhat steep. We stopped several times due to fatigue.
Another charm during the trip is that you can hear the birds singing behind the trees. If you are lucky, you can meet monkeys swinging in the thick branches of trees.
Unfortunately there isn't any accommodation on this beach. Therefore, visitors must bring their own needs. As an area of Islamic law, for female visitors who want to be camping there must be permission from the local village apparatus.
