Mount Seulawah Agam, located in Aceh District and Pidie District, Aceh, has natural beauty. The fatigue will disappear as soon as we arrive at the peak at 1,800 meters above sea level (m asl), even though we have to travel nine hours.
All very natural. Clean air without pollution, lush trees, melodious singing of various species of birds, and of course no plastic waste on the mountain that has another name: solawa agam, solawaik agam, selawadjanten, and goldberb.
Seulawah Agam formed is thought to be due to the confluence of the Indo-Australian plate that moves north and hits the Eurasian crust plate. As a result of this incident, there was a melting of the Indo-Australian Ocean crust into magma which later formed this mountain.
Reaching the top of Seulawah Agam is not as difficult as other mountains in Aceh such as Burni Telong, Peut Sagoe, or Leuser Peak. In this area, the extreme slope is only 70 degrees, it is also not up to 500 meters. For mountain climbers in Aceh, especially students, they are not yet considered climbers if they have not set foot on the top of Seulawah Agam.
Climbing Seulawah, can be started from the settlement of Saree, Aceh Besar. For tourists who have never climbed, it is recommended to start at 07.00 WIB, the goal is to have plenty of rest and not to stay in the forest. The minimum temperature of this region is 19 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 25 degrees Celsius.
Entering the Jungle Door area, climbers will pass the path of straight and large trees. Here the soil is wet and mossy, which is about three hours to pass. Pintu Angin, is the next roaming area that has been waiting with views of green forests and rows of unique titled trees.
From here, the 70-degree slope begins, which indicates that we have entered the Seven Banyan region. There are seven hundred-year-old banyan trees here. Then there is an area called Batu Gajah, because there are trees covered with moss, the shape is exactly the elephant's trunk. From here, the peak of Mount Seulawah is near and the temperature is getting colder.
