RE: Could DTube Replace YouTube At One Point?
the problem with d-tube is that it is too underdeveloped at this point. what could be the reason for people to switch from youtube? the most stuff that is posted on dtube is also available on youtube, and yt functions a lot better.
even if they come up with some innovative stuff, what stops a multibillion $ company from copying it?.
maybe and just maybe dtube finds a niche where it has no competition from youtube. like porn or stuff isnt allowed to be shown on youtube.
On YouTube content creators are either silanced or demonetized, but lot of times even videos that are suitable for most of advertisers get demonetized. Videos that do end up demonetized or are not monetized in the first place never get the same amount of views as monetized videos. YouTube also is hypocritical, they say that videos that talk about tragedies or just mention them can´t get monetized which applies to everyday Joe but video from Jimmy Kimmel about Las Vegas shooting ends up monetized and on the trending page. They put in favour YouTubers that they want to put even if content that they do create should be demonetized and not put on the trending page. Logan Paul filmed a dead body, that video was trending and they did not care about it until they recived the backlash from the community.
i absolutely agree with your points, but i think the reality is that this not a problem that concerns "the average joe". all in all the majority of people consists of lazy monkeys, that just want quick and easy access to simple distraction.
so i think there needs to be a lot of technical development and original content to make dtube work.
