Hard work pays off, especially with something like social media. But not always right away. It will take time and patience will certainly be a virtue. If things don't work out today, tomorrow, this week or this month...DO Not stop pushing.
Growing up as a long distance runner, I see my mates who had the most fun running and were just consistent year after year are getting the results now.
You can not run a sub 15min 5k in the first year or three of running, so don't worry about it.
Just keep pushing and enjoy the progress!
