Do what you love ... or we might all just die

Do what you love… or we might all just die.

… now that I’ve grabbed your attention, let me share with you the good news …

The fact that you are here now means that it's not too late to make a change :)

Now … back to where we started.

Do what you love or we might all just die. (more slowly this time)

What does that even mean?
I'll tell you.

The world is facing some trying times

Fossil fuels are polluting the environment ...
An ever expanding population is putting massive pressure on limited resources …
And currently, our Commander in Chief denies it all

That's not even the bad part

Technology has empowered us to do so many great things … but like everything else ..
it has a dark side

Since the invention of the steem engine we have continuously been increasing the rate at which we can transform our environment

That alone isn't a bad thing, but when combined with unsustainable growth and ecologically damaging practices, we end up with the ability to destroy the very ecosystem that supports us … and we're doing it quickly

By now we are all aware of what's at stake and I'm not going to waste anyone's time by spouting more facts about climate change.

My goal is to inspire people.

To create a sense of urgency

And to instill a sense of hope

We can't rely on someone else to solve this problem for us.

If we are going to undo this mess that we have created we are all going to have to become a part of the solution.

For some people this will mean cutting back on driving, for others it will involve compost bins, farmers markets and supporting local businesses.

Those are all great, but sadly, they alone will not be enough.

In order to get out of this, we are going to need everyone doing their part to help solve this problem.

If you look at any of the great minds throughout history, they all have one thing in common.

They were intensely passionate about their work.

They knew what the were working towards and they had a focus and drive that allowed them to solve incredibly daunting tasks.

You might tell yourself “I’m just not that passionate about anything” but
I simply refuse to believe that.

From my own experience, and the stories I've heard from many of my peers, there are a lot of us who want to help bring about change …
the problem is we don't always know what to do.

So! … here I am today with a simple solution

I want to share with you a simple exercise that I discovered on one of my frequent journies into the rabbit hole of the internet

Here’s how it works
You start by asking yourself this question:
If you could do one thing before you died, what would you do?
Then, ask yourself : If somehow you could do a second thing, what would you do?
And lastly, if by some miracle... You could do a third and final thing, what would you do?

That's it…

Three questions…

every day ... for a month.

At the end of your month write down a list of EVERY answer
And then record how often each one came up.

I assure you that you will find some similarities in your answers…

Ok that’s great … but then what??

Well, next is the fun part.

You Find the one answer that you wrote most …
and get rid of the rest.

That is your passion, that is your north star, that is your internal compass.

Whenever you are faced with a tough decision, you can ask yourself “will this bring me closer to accomplishing my goal?

If the answer is anything other than hell yes, you know what to do.

The goal behind this practice is radical simplicity.

In a world filled with a surplus of information we need simple ways to figure out what is important to us.

This exercise does just that.

With this knowledge in mind, go out into the world and discover your passion.

What you find is not important, it's what you do with it that is.

Take your gift, and share it with the world. We need them now more than ever.

With a bunch of hard work, and a bit of good luck, we might all have a chance.

So, in conclusion, do what you love or we might all die.
